Just before my 20th birthday, around the time I received my higher school certificate, I was faced with a very big decision. I could either choose soccer and maybe one day even play professionally or I could choose a „decent“ career. At that point I knew that my girlfriend, Sabine, was pregnant and so I chose the more stable alternative and found a job working in a bank. As I made this decision I promised myself that I would never play for another team except for SV-Feldkirchen. And I never did.
Professionally, I was responsible for the bank’s investment business for over 25 years. In 2005 I was offered a position on the board. I began with a corresponding training for future managers and then accepted the management of one of the bank’s largest branches with around 20 employees. I worked as the manager of the branch bank and in the investment business part of the bank for 2 years simultaneously. In 2007 I stepped back from my position as a manager. At this point I was suffering from a severe case of burnout. I was able to hold out until October 2007 – until I broke down completely.
And that is how my first book came into being: „BURNOUT - DEPRESSION CURSE or BLESSING – Looking for my life intent “
